Molten Dream
At the time of this picture in 2014 the lava had stopped flowing into the ocean on the island of Hawaii, there was only surface lava flowing through the forest. To get to the flow required a long and difficult hike through a muddy rain forest. The grueling hike required much fortitude as we battled wind, rain and thick mud to get to our destination. During the late hours of night the sky finally cleared and we had our chance to photograph the molten lava under a full moon. This is an up close and personal shot of the lava making its way downhill while clouds stream through the night sky.
