Thick layers of storm clouds cleared to a few minute to reveal a blue sky and the sun rising between the Twin Islands, Na Mokulua.
Shimmering shore breaks on One’uli, a secluded black sand beach in Makena, Maui.
Mala Wharf is one of my favorite places on Maui to photograph. There is something special about the contrasting elements of the wharf that I enjoy so much. Whether it is the protruding rebar in the jagged concrete, paired long side a scenic Maui coastline. Or whether it is the decaying pier stretching far into the calming waters that makes it so intriguing. On this day, as I photographed the sunset over the wharf, an orange glow slowly filled the sky and reflected off of the water. The sunset intensified until the whole sky turned bright orange, blanketing the pier and everything around it.
